I can’t imagine how Yellena James even knows where she should start on one of these pieces. They are so layered, complex and beautiful… very ‘bottom of the sea’ in a made-up, magical kind of way don’t you think? The top two pieces are acrylic on wood, and the bottom two are pen & ink on paper. I can’t decide which medium I love more, so I’ve shown them both. Although I have to say, the bottom two make me want to go pen shopping right this very minute.

    I L.O.V.E. Yellena’s art. She has become my favorite living artist in the last couple of years. I get lost in her drawings in the very best way.

    I know what you mean. I literally spent hours going through all of her paintings and drawings trying to decide on the four I wanted to show…. so many beautiful choices!

    Wow. Yellena’s work is SO beautiful and I really identify with her style! You know what? She actually reminds me a lot of another of my favorite artists– Donnabelle Casis. You should definitely look her up- i think her stuff is right up your creek!
