I wrote about Peruvian artist Ana Teresa Barboza in 2013, and today I came across her series titled “Weaving the Moment”… obviously I had to write again. I have a major weakness for work that blurs the line between fine art and craft, and this my friends is a perfect example of that blurry line! I can’t get enough of the tangled embroidered roots dangling from the bottom of her canvases, and that crocheted water spilling from it’s wooden tap… oh my… so, so good!

I absolutely love her quirky work. The plants with 3D roots are just gorgeous with very subtle colours.

aren’t those amazing… i think those dangling roots are my favorite bits… although there are a lot of favorite bits to choose from!

I so enjoy your blog, and this is a particularly interesting post as I’m completely amazed and intrigued by “painting” with stitches. Just saw a gorgeous new piece by Coral & Tusk over on Instagram. Would love to find an artist in the genre to partner with on a future show since I paint so many contemporary florals. Thx again for a great blog.
