CONGRATULATIONS … Amanda Lipke! Thank you to everyone that entered, and thank you so much to Tracy {who I had the pleasure of meeting at Emily Carr’s art market last night} for donating these fantastic prints!
………..
Canadian artist Tracy Jager is an alumni of Vancouver’sΒ Emily Carr University of Art + Design… and this weekend just happens to be their “Comeback” Alumni event! There will be all sorts of things going on down there, including an art market, and you guessed it – Tracy is one of the featured artists! {I’ll also be there on Friday night – 26th from 7-9pm – to speak on a panel that will kick off the weekend!}. Anyway, in order to celebrate all of this alumni goodness, Tracy has graciously donated these two prints for a give-away! YAY! Please leave a comment below and I’ll draw one name {yep, you win both 10″x12″ prints!} on Saturday morning at 9am. Actually, let’s make that 10am just incase “The Talkback” keeps me out past my bedtime!
Hi!!! I just love the simplicity of these prints. The game between the texture, figure and space are very direct and clever. The one of the boat, makes me imagine an infinite lake where one can get lost.
While in the other print, the courtains make that woman looks so tiny, that it gives me the sesation that she can only feel confortable in herself.
These feelings are very familiar to me, and, at the same time, are very old.
Thank you for posting these prints! IΒ΄ll love to have them π
Love these prints!!

Just saw the them on Facebook. They are sooo lovely. They would be the supertruper extra to my move to a new city.
My mother recently gave me my first artwork, so I can start and make my own small art collection. I’d love put these on my wall and make a small exhibition in my room. I’m sure everybody will be jealous!
I am very “drawn” to the boat image while surrounded by my beautiful cabbage rose drapes. My mind is wandering afar.

These prints speak to me! Miriam is very generous. I hope to make it over to Emily Carr this weekend. Also, I thoroughly enjoyed your talk, workshop and book signing this past Monday. I’ve loved reading through Collage and have started on Creative Block.

A rowboat on a sea of plaid–I love this!
Love these!!
These are inspired!
Great work and also great selectction
Such great prints! Thank you for the giveaway!
Hi! Thanks for the giveaway! I love these!!
Love it!
They both make me go back to my childhood. “The boat ride” was my escaping route and the bedroom was my port, my shelter, a “safe way back home”. The curtains, well, they remind me of an hilarious situation :)!
Lovely!
I love the juxtaposition of the hand drawn (painted?) lines of the the first one, with the collage. Lovely!
These are very nice and unique.
Wonderful giveaway. Such wonderful works of art.
i love your work, and would love to put these in my home.
Lovely prints!
Yay Jealous Curator!! Fun giveaway, amazing art. Yay!
Beautiful work! I am re-inspired! Thank you π
Oh my! Both are so lovely, clever and unique.
1.) Ah! A rowboat on a sea of plaid! Perfectly random and thought provoking; quirky, quirky! A
Beatle’s album cover if I ever saw one! Crazy magnificent in the best way!
2.) The beauty and wonder of this one – Chintz canopy with no bed and a woman in a forlorn pose
simple yet elegant beside it. One can only wonder what or who she is missing. The bright, happy
chintz leads me to think she lives an outwardly perfect, fulfilling life but is missing love, intimacy;
perhaps her lover has left or she has left him. (Inwardly?) Maybe she simply cannot experience a
passion she once felt and appears devoid and sad about it. Hmm… Who knows but the brilliant
artist? I LOVE IT! π
How beautiful! Lovely giveaway!
I like the juxtaposition of the familiar-domestic in the form of fabric print with these absorbed figures, suggesting narratives of displacement. Intrigiuing, with a nostalgic palette.
Such lovely work! also, thank you for constantly showing me (and my students) beautiful art.
I would love these prints!! Hope I’m lucky!
Time, Space, Travel. Beautiful! Thank you for posting!
Very cool prints- thanks for the chance to win! And all the best for a great panel!
Great prints, would love to give them a home!
Beautiful!
for reasons why I’d like to win see all of the comments above π
So pretty! The top one reminds me of how I feel on a Friday afternoon – just trying to row through the storm, straight into the weekend. Love it!
Beautiful pieces.
Beautiful, whimsical pieces!
I can’t get enough of the first one. Any adventure in a canoe feels like this.
few elements in each yet huge stories can unfold
I love the circle print with the boat! But the second one is striking as well.
Please can these be mine!
Very nice, would love to be able to appreciate them in person.
These are so wonderful! Thanks!
Amazing works! So simple, yet the works have incredibly strong composition. Love all the work you post!
True love I have seen thee!
Charming and fresh!
Row Row Row your Boat
Gently down the stream
Merily Merily Merily
Life is but a dream
a dream of floating in a sea of weaving
woven threads
coloured texture
and we
create the foreground
inseparable from the canvas.
The boat print reminds me of fond memories, even though all of my canoe adventures were ill-fated.
Love these playful prints!
yay! i just went to check out the art market today!
