Gah! I absolutely love this colorful, geometric, hand-embroidered work by New Zealand artist Jane Denton! I love it so much in fact, that I’ve stocked that last piece, the big beautiful X, in my GREAT.LY shop … yes, GREAT.LY officially launches today! We should celebrate, yes? It is exciting to see embroidery as an artform. My mother was an avid embroiderer and spent many many many hours creating pillowcases and table cloths. My first venture into embroidery as a child was embroidering a lamb on my pillow case. I was so crazy proud of myself. Yesterday I was in a store that sold embroidery thread and I was so excited to see all the colors and the texture and remembering the little wrapper around it. James work is stunning!
