i’m jealous of twin-niwt

Ok, before the love, I have to start by saying that tumblr ain’t my favorite thing in the world. It just seems to be a giant sea of images that rarely link back to the artist who made the work. That drives me nuts!

Anywho, I digress.

When Sandrine Kerfante sent me a link to her beautiful site, twin-niwt I started letting go of my tumblr rage, because I was seeing double… and I liked it! Sandrine has collected such a gorgeous group of everything twin-like. ♥ ♥ These are just a few of my favorites {I was tempted to copy and paste everything she had on there, but… well, that would be crazy, right?}

1) Sonia Szóstak 2) unknown  3) unknown via fromthewings 4) Ariko Inaoka 5) Anne Malmberg 6) Budi Cc-line 7) Kristina Petrosiute 8 ) unknown  9) Clayton Cubitt 10) Julie Cerise {*thanks to sandrine, and everyone else that jumped in to fill in the blanks on a few of these!}

    It is frustrating, isn’t it?

    And then you want to reblog something and do at least your part in properly crediting the artists, but you can’t 😐 .

    Not even the reverse image search can solve everything.

    thank YOU cora! and yes, ana, it truly does drive me crazy. pinterest isn’t as bad, but tumblr… so terrible in the linkback department!

    I do not agree with where the fault lies. There are many many beautifully attributed tumblr blogs. Just glancing at some of her pins I found attribution on 3 pictures in less that 15 minutes. As for me, I never post a pin without proper attribution. Sometimes I spend an hour chasing down attribution for one pin. Bottom line for me, if I don’t find it, I do not pin it because I believe there is more to a pretty picture than just a ‘pretty picture.’ It is not in the quantity of how many pins I can post in an hour rather one pin tells a nice story. (Of course when I first began building boards it was only about a pretty picture but I couldn’t stand it that way) B The boards on Pinterest should be (but most are not!) like a lovely gallery or museum. You have to go in and look and learn and be enthralled. If you want attribution you can find it. Before I close my rant, the other problem on Pinterest are the boards with over 700+++ pins. No one will wander through 1,000 pins. It is all about the re-pin and the followers ; -(

    Best wishes to you my dear jealous curator for providing so much beauty. You truly tickle my senses every single day!

    thanks S! : )
    i agree… but it seems like a culture thing. on pinterest people seem to try harder to give the proper credits/links (is it an easier process when you upload the photo? i don’t know because i only use pinterest, not tumblr… i know it’s very easy on pinterest!) … but for some reason, in the world of tumblr, there is rarely any info. in sandrine’s case she has linked back to as many pieces as she can (i know, because we emailed about it before i wrote the post). because she’s dealing with a theme (twins!) it must be frustrating for her too, to find the perfect image and not the info for it… i don’t blame her for still wanting to post it. i just wish everyone that’s either pinning or posting or whatever would all give credit and then it would all be so much easier for everyone!

    I’m not positive, but I believe #9 could be attributed to the Instagram of Clayton Cubitt from quite awhile ago.
