dan-ah kim
Underpants, tropical house plants, and a couple of tigers. Perfection. I don’t think I could choose a favorite from these mixed media pieces by Seoul-born, Brooklyn based artist Dan-ah Kim… BUT, if I had to pick, I’d go with “Fighting Stance” at the top of the post – because if you’re going to fight, you should always fight like a girl. #ShePersisted
{Some of these pieces are available in Dan-ah’s shop.}
Thanks for all of this inspiration. I really enjoy these daily posts…
beautifully said
tidy and careful! i admire this painting style and the tiger friends!
The fighting girl looked so familiar to me, and I realized that exact painting is used in the movie The Family Fang (2015). All of the little paintings in that movie look like her work, but they don’t give any credit to an artist in the credits 🙁 That’s really too bad, these pieces are wonderfully imaginative!
The movie is OK, but I would recommend reading the book, by Kevin Wilson. It’s an interesting story about a dysfunctional artsy family with performance artist parents.
It has taken me ages to track down the artist of the paintings that I saw in the film, “The Family Fang”. It is very sad that the opportunity was missed to give her credit. The paintings featured on the movie are so haunting and mysterious. Your work is lovely!
