Oh, so elegant. I absolutely love work that is half “finished”… there is a true confidence in it, as it’s quite a skill to know “when to stop”. These perfectly half drawn ladies are the work of UK based artist Mark Demsteader. Sigh. Lovely. ps. quite sure the woman with short hair is Emma Watson. Anyone?
{Thanks to Richard Slade, @sladedesign, for sending me a link to Mark’s work.}
yep, that’s emma watson. part of a series he did for her 21st birthday.such beautiful work.
ah-ha! thanks kate!
That was exactly my thought as I looked at these… E. Watson! she had grown into such a gorgeous woman!
It really is true about the skill of knowing when to stop especially when you are going for the unfinished feeling. These are amazing with the combination of strong line work and simplicity of the black, gray and white value scale. Simply beautiful!
Is there a website I can purchase prints from?
hi sunny – i’m not sure that he sells prints. here is the page on his site that shows “available works” : http://www.markdemsteader.com/#!landscape/cyuu
