i’m jealous of samantha robinson

Ok. I don’t know if I’m more jealous of Australian artist Samantha Robinson‘s fabulous porcelain creations {clearly I have a thing for those watermelon bowls!!!} or her gorgeous, creativity-filled studio… Gah!

love it all. love the colors and the watermelons ARE fabulous. I’M jealous of her volume, though i suppose that is something that comes with making functional ceramics. and something i always envy. . . .

Could her studio BE any cuter?.. she asks as she thinks about the hideous furnished rental spare bedroom she has to use..

As for the ceramics, I’ll take one of each, please and put them in my ugly rental. Wish I’d seen the patchwork vase for my patchwork design round-up on Friday!

My first thought on looking at them too is that they should be sold at Anthropologie. So many things to love here.

Funny some of you mentioned Anthrpologie because they are the ones that put her on the map as they say. I saw a tv program about 4 years ago which aired 2 seasons, it was called Man Shops Globe – featured Anthropologie’s buyer shopping the globe for furniture and art pieces. Saw him shop fabulous markets in Paris, Italy, Instabul, etc. One of course was Austrailia where they found Samantha and her ceramics. They made her a guest artist in NY store/gallery as they do with most artist they feature goods of in stores, and it hasn’t been the same since for her, that’s a good and bad thing. Lol Actually the episode I saw her featured in was a year or so after she was commissioned by Anthropologie and they went back to see what new things she’d been creating….. She stated that she was so busy keeping up with her contract that she hadn’t created anything new ever since, simply did not have time! 🙁 Aw poor girl! Lol BTW the watermelon bowls are made with plaster molds she made of her belly throughout her pregnancy. 🙂
