i’m jealous of sharon arnold
I am always awe-struck when I come across this kind of work. The patience and control required to create cut-paper installations is truly beyond me. American artistย Sharon Arnold, on the other hand, has completely mastered this art. These pieces are from a series called “nixe, chimaera, muff”ย {the very first piece in the post is titled Nixe 2010, and is made from an 8′ roll of Strathmore drawing paper!}
{… thanks to Mudchicken for the link to Sharon’s work.}
This is gorgeous. Not only jealous but I want it in my living room. By the way love your blog, very inspiring. Keep up the jealousy.
i know – i want one too… the feathers i think! (hm, i’ve got a bit of a feather thing going today)
ps. thanks for the sweet words!,
Amazing. Amazing! I love this kind of work. It reminds me of (the process, not the actual work) of Tom Friedman who is a personal hero to me! ๐
Adore!! Reminds us of the 2009 Chanel runway show for spring/summer! ( http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/pop-up-decor-chanel-2009-haute-75812 via Apartment Therapy)
totally!
I am spellbound. The energy and the flow these pieces create, is incredible. Thanky you for sharing such magic.
i love when artist can do dramatic & mesmerizing things with the simplest material like paper
Hey Jealous Curator – so exciting, thanks for the post and the kind words! ๐
oh and that link to the work for Chanel is gorgeous; and Tiffanie, I am super pleased to hear that you see echoes of Tom Friedman – I relate to his work and process on a very intimate level. Thank you ๐
The movement and texture in these pieces in mesmerizing. Oh to have such patience and a steady hand. I’m jealous too.
This is just amazing! I absolutely love it. I need a dress like this ๐
