i’m jealous of ernesto neto
I want to spend the entire weekend in any one of these installations by Brazilian artist Ernesto Neto. Strolling through breezy/delicate tent worlds, exploring plushy pink organic rooms, or lying around {just like those lucky people right up there!} in a giant, pink, shape-forming cushion of relaxation. Ahhh…
ps. thanks to Sofie for leaving a comment below… apparently, those strange hanging pieces are actually filled with spices, so the whole exhibition room smells amazing!
omygod. amazinggg.
Oh, he’s amazing! I Watched a exhibition in Norway (Astrup Fearnly Museum) where he had some installations. The things that is hanging down (picture five), with funny stuff in the “bottom” is different spices, so it smelled really good in the room where they were hanging 🙂
Oh! I wasn’t sure what that was… I thought it was soil! Thanks Sofie (and I’m jealous that you actually got to see his work in person!)
Those are beyond incredible. His installations might be my new “happy place”.
isn’t he amazing? one of my favorite artists! I fell in love the first time I saw him in 1999 at the Carnegie http://www.cmoa.org/international/html/art/neto.htm
He’s one of the best Brazilian artist in nowadays. But Brazil has too many other great artists to be discovered yet!
sooooo jealous!!

Seems like the simplest ideas are the best, and yes I’m jealous because why didn’t I think of this concept?!
You have an amazing imagination. I wish I could smell, touch and see you work.

May i know that which fabric is being used in this or which translucent fabric is it??
i’m not sure, lata. his site doesn’t list materials, but other gallery sites have lists that include “fabric”, “Lycra tulle”, “plastic net”
