I’m not only jealous of the artwork by Jeremy Taylor and Allyson Mellberg, a married art team from Charlottesville,VA, but I’m also very inspired by their approach. The top piece, Gold Fronts by Jeremy, and the bottom piece, Feral Fridgy by Allyson are both from a show called Handplant. The show is about ‘the dysfunctional relationship humans have with nature’. The images definitely show this, but they go one step further by usingĀ ‘homemade walnut ink washes mixed with squid and spinach inks to create beautiful natural color tones that also act as viable alternatives to toxic paints and chemicals.’ See what I mean? How inspiring is that?
{An amazing painter named Mark Bradley-Shoup, who I wrote about a few months ago, recommended that I check out Jeremy and Allyson’s work… Thank you Mark!}
