Ah, nothing says “Happy Monday morning” quite like a bunch of fresh ‘n juicy oranges! Mmmm, now I want an orange AND one of these paintings by Woodstock, New York based artist/educator Karen O’Neil. I’ve been wanting to get back into painting lately {more on that later} and I find these little still life pieces ridiculously inspiring. A palette full of the most perfect colors, a few strategic brush strokes, and voila… a juicy orange on a pink glass plate that you wish you could eat for breakfast! Yum.

ps. She teaches workshops… if only I lived in Woodstock, NY.

So thankful you posted this feature of her work + I found it via Pinterest. I am in love! Totally missing painting as well, and this is so inspiring. Her brushstrokes and vibrant colors (especially in these select paintings) are totally delicious!

Karen O’Neil’s work is some of the best I have ever seen, and I say this as an extreme creative who is really sensitive to aesthetics. My standards are off the charts. But I am gobsmacked by Karen’s work. I regard her as one of the best painters alive today. Her command of color, and the way that the combination of those colors make me feel to the depths of my soul is just transformative.
