i’m jealous of louis boudreault

Oh my word. These mixed-media portraits by Montreal based artist Louis Boudreault grabbed me immediately! They are part of a series titled “Destiny”, as these are the childhood portraits of such greats as Picasso, Warhol, van Gogh, Elvis etc! So, so good. The sweet vintage {and famous!} faces in graphite, the bows, the stripes… and then, you realize this:

The scale! Oh, the scale!!!! ♥ ♥ ♥ {yes, three little hearts worth of love!}

And with that, I hope you enjoy the end of 2012 ~ I’ll see you in 2013! xo

    Oh wow, I love these, as well. I love the little details, the mix of colors, and they way they play with the grungy feel of all the paint. Look great!

    Boudreault’s “Destiny” is amazing – eclectic innocence. Thank you for sharing these. I just re-read another wonderful art experience in Carlton Davis’s book, The Art Dockuments, which takes you through the 1980s drive-by gallery in L.A. called Art Dock. The author provides entertaining and enlightening stories of an avant-garde artist community. Love it!
