i’m jealous of masako miki
Oh dear! … get it? Dear/deer? Ok, bad deer jokes aside, I absolutely love these mixed media pieces by California based artist Masako Miki. I mean, come on… what’s not to love?! Rainbow-hued embroidery thread, flat patterns, and a deer being lowered slowly into a tank of aquamarine water. Oh deer, indeed!
{Masako is represented by Swarm Gallery in Oakland, California}

what a place you have here! i’m excited to have found a place to discover new artists and kindle a bit of artistic jealousy. (i know just what it is to see a work of art and think to yourself, “i wish i’d thought of that…”)
cheers! + thank you. i’ll be back. yay!
exactly! just kindle that artistic jealousy enough to get you making stuff… not enough to make you stop making stuff! that’s the real trick in all of this ; ) thanks for coming by annie! xx
ooh, I saw Masako Miki’s work at Park Life, San Francisco a few months ago. I completely fell in love and took so many notes on the show. It is fantastic work in person!
